Bowfishing Lanka was born out of a shared passion for fishing and adventure between friends Sandun Sampath and Rick O'Mara. Rick, an experienced boat captain and seasoned adventurer, joined Sandun on a journey across Sri Lanka, exploring its rich fishing heritage and diverse landscapes.

Together, they traversed the depths of the ocean on deep-sea fishing expeditions, cast their lines from picturesque beaches, and marveled at the ancient tradition of stilt fishing in the tranquil waters of Weligama Beach. It was during these immersive experiences that Rick, with his wealth of knowledge and skills in outdoor sports, introduced Sandun to the exhilarating world of bowfishing.

Inspired by their shared love for the sport and fueled by Rick's expertise in handling bows, arrows, and slingshots, the duo embarked on a new adventure: launching a bowfishing business in Sri Lanka. Bolgoda Lake emerged as the perfect setting for their venture, offering abundant opportunities to target a diverse array of freshwater species in a picturesque and accessible location.

With Sandun's local connections and Rick's experience as a boat captain and adventure enthusiast, Bowfishing Lanka aims to introduce locals and tourists alike to the thrill of bowfishing in the heart of Sri Lanka.
